Jennylyn Mercado is one tough cookie-actor. She is enjoying single motherhood, after getting over childhood abuse from a stepfather and the more recent heartbreaks, one involving physical abuse again. She is now in an MMFF entry, "English 0nly, Please."
She could be the poster person for women rising like the phoenix from abuse of any (un)kind. She is a natural, reveling in acting like she really is in the movie. "Got to be myself," could be the mantra of anyone in relationship mediation.
