Rizal

"We had luncheon and dinner at the Paternos, each one contributed one peso. With our fingers, we ate rice, stewed chicken, adobo, fritada, and roast suckling pig. We were Felix Resurreccion, Emilio and Esteban Villanueva, the two Paternos, the two Llorentes, Figueroa, Vicente Gonzalez, Raymundo Perio, Manuel Iriarte (the initiator), Eduardo Lete, Juan Fernandez, Federico Calero and me."

Rocking Troll

Cignal show "Wag Po" hosts have learned their lesson not to anymore post nasty comments of trolls. Last night, they taunted their negative viewers to  share their huge salaries with Odette victims.

"Christmas Letter from Jesus

When you look for me at Christmas                        You won't need a special star                                        I'm no longer just in Bethlehem                                    I'm right here where you are.                                    You may not be aware of me amid the celebrations.  You'll have to look beyond the stores,                      and all the decorations.                                              But if you take a moment                                        from your list of things to do                                        To close your eyes and say a prayer...                      I'm waiting here for you.                                       You're the one I want to be with.                        You're the reason that I came!                                  And you'll find me in the stillness                       Where I'm whispering your name."

"To the women who are labeled

Aggressive: Keep on being Assertive

Bossy: Keep on Leading

Difficult: Keep telling the truth

Too much: Keep taking up space

Awkward: Keep asking hard questions

Please don't shrink yourself to make people happy. Be yourself. You're  beautiful that way."

Check-In

The German cable show featured synagogues. Interestingly, the kippot(?) headgear worn in respect looks like the papal cap. The golden pointer they use for Torah passages likewise manifest their reverence for the Word of God.

Crying Time

Asia News Service featured a study that said crying between 7-10 pm is good for the cortisol level. The dictionary connects it with treating rheumatoid arthritis!? Is this why soap operas air at this time?

Sensitivities

Jerry Seinfeld learned his lesson when the woman he was interested in turned out to be a native American. He had to define the dinner arrangement he had made for both of them. He couldn't say directly from whom he got the tickets to the game.  When she asked back the TV Guide previously given to Jerry, he couldn't call her the term.

From Zero to Hero

A truly uplifting film from Netflix about a boy with cerebral palsy who became a gold medalist in Paralympic Track and Field, HK's So Wa Wai.

His mom first challenged him to walk and survive by putting him on a conveyor belt in the laundry service where she worked. Bullies also made him run faster.

In the end, he offered his gold medal to his mother for jewelry she never had.
