Cinema World's take on weddings came from Bordeaux. But scenes were quite familiar. The past haunted the groom, in the presence of his daughter with the special condition of Down's Syndrome. A relative in charge of photography hid
the girl from the camera, but could not control her tongue. Even grandmother,
who chose the church venue, turned out to have had a previous relationship with
its parish priest!

Noteworthy was the use of compact cars to the wedding. No gas guzzlers, thank ecology.  And the wedding cake was also recycled. After the creme puff conical
tower was dropped, the bakers swiftly brought it back to shape.

Palestine's contribution to Cinema World dealt with animal welfare during warfare. Giraffada follows the vet(erinarian)'s search for a mate of the depressed pregnant giraffe whose partner was a recent victim of night light-and-sound violence.

Weight of Way

In Animal Planet, a feature "Animals gone wild" showed an elephant roaming on a country highway. Did not catch how it came about, but there was Rumbo harassing cars trunk-to-trunk!

Spanish Scavenger

Cinema World is like the UN of cable tv. The other day, "Food and Shelter" showed the poverty in Spain. Its depiction seemed first-world still, definitely not Mendoza, Brilliantesque. Perhaps it's the literally cool atmosphere or the tone-down emotions, even if intense every now and then. Or the distant language we catch intermittently.

However, the failure to pay rent, travails of single motherhood, dreams of young boys, kindness of neighbors and government support are universal.

Finding Dory (a Job)

Before successfully "Finding Nemo," Dory voice-over Ellen Degeneres (then dubbed degenerate) couldn't find work after coming out of the closet on land.

Now she can be Ellen the Generous, keeping the good-karma character of Dory. Yet another self-mediation.

A French film, "Scapegoat" had a department store's Technical Control employee called to the Claims Department everytime there is a customer complaint. TC staff gets scolded harshly by the Claims manager so the customer's rage is assuaged and s/he settles for a replacement and avoids legal action.
