Oprah

She traced her feelings of inadequacy to her color and family.  Being born of an uneducated black teenager, she lived first with her grandmother who was a maid and abused her physically and emotionally. When she got to live with her mother, she was made to sleep in the porch as they were living with a black woman who could pass for white. Her being raped by an uncle was not mentioned.

She realized later on that forgiveness is accepting that these things happened, but not necessarily condoning them.
