In Netflix "Penguin Bloom," the surfer mom of the Bloom family suffered from a freak accident while they were on vacation in Thailand. Wheelchair- bound back in Australia, she befriended and got healed emotionally by their daughter's pet magpie Penguin, and went on to become a kayak world champion.
